I needed more pictures of a real Friesian for the Friesian horse project. So last week during my holiday I went for a horse ride :). Sometimes painting from only one photograph isn’t enough. You’ll need to view your subject from different angles or you will skip certain details that are easy to miss. Look at the photo below. The tiny hairs on his cheek weren’t visible on the main photograph I use. I can also analyse the bone structure much better thanks to the photo’s below.
